Clover:
"Why, I'd love to! Tucker, please play right now?" Grabbing Tucker's hand, Clover tugged him towards the worn, upright piano.
Tucker:
"Well, I guess I have no choice." Laughing, he took hold of Rosie's hand with his open one and smiled back at her.
Sitting down at the piano, Tucker closed his eyes and ran his hands through his soft, brown hair. The tune of the Sonata slowly filled his mind and he forgot about all outside distractions. Right now, when he was at the piano, it was simply him and his music. In no time the sweet melody filled the small house, his fingers nimbly moving across the black and white keys.
Placing his hands in his lap at the very end, Tucker turned to face the girls. His face shone with a happiness that was not there before, as if all of his problems had momentarily vanished when he played.
"What did you think?"

Rosie
He started to play it... oh no... he plays it... so much like mother did. Everything sounds exactly the same. It- Rosie felt the tears coming. It's so beautiful.
As he played, Rosie could envision her home. Her sweet home that she had lost.
"Mommy! Mommy!"
"I'm in here, dear." the graceful woman said as she stood from the piano. "What is wrong?"
"Nothing!" the five year old Rosie exclaimed with a smile. She squeezed her mommy's hand. "I love hearing you play. Please play Canon in D Mador, uhm, Major?"
The caring mother looked surprised at her daughter's words, but then a smile crossed her face. She embraced her daughter and then sat at the piano.
"How about... I teach you?"
"Teach me?"
"Yes. I want you to learn it, love it; cherish it."
"Cherish it..." Rosie whispered. The tears were streaming down her cheeks now. She let out a sob. "It's... it's beautiful."
Lelia
With a yell, she rammed her fist into the punching bag. She attacked it, again and again, with a strange ferocity.
Finally, she gave an exhausted sigh, and walked to the side of the room. She slumped to the ground, her light brown bangs plastered to her face from sweat. She started the process of taking off her gloves with trembling arms and hands.
"I will overcome it... I will!" she muttered to herself.

The boy's blue eyes continued to flicker across the spacious room, passing from person to person. The gym, though rather spacious, was nearly filled to capacity. Bodies, dripping with perspiration, crowded various exercise equipment and lines even formed at certain areas. Everywhere he looked, it seemed as if every equipment was occupied. Briefly, the brunette contemplated leaving, but ultimately decided against it.
"Might as well," he grumbled, recalling the distance from the gym to his apartment.
With a exasperated sigh, he wandered the area, his eyes scanning for an opening. Almost immediately, he noticed an unoccupied punching bag several feet away. However, as he neared, he was alarmed to see a girl his age by the side of the room, her shoulders slumped over and her body trembling, shaking. With a bewildered expression crossing his face, he stopped in his tracks. Although he wanted to just ignore her and continue on his merry way, his sense of chivalry forced him to stay put; she was, after all, just a girl - what if she needed help? Cautiously, he approached the girl, concerned for her well-being.
"Are you... okay?" he asked somewhat awkwardly as he neared the shaking girl, silently praying that she wasn't crying. He was pretty bad at comforting - his mother and sister, both of whom he considered unusually 'ferocious', never really cried, so he had little experience with sobbing girls. "Everything alright?"

Lelia
Lelia was startled by a young, gentleman-like voice. She looked up at quickly.
It was a brunette boy, who she supposed not to be too much older than herself. His eyes were a beautiful cerulean.
"What? Oh..." Lelia quickly chided herself for looking so pitiful. "I'm sorry. I- I was just... it's nothing." she stood up and finished unwinding her boxing tape from her hands. She ran a arm across her sweaty forehead.
"My name is Lelia." she said with a smile as she redid her ponytail. "What's yours? I'm sorry to have bothered you..." she said, apologetically.

"Oh. Well, er, Ethan and no, it wasn't a problem at all," the boy paused, unsure of what else to say next. He looked over Leila, who appeared disheveled from her recent workout, with mild surprise; she didn't look particularly muscular. In fact, the girl looked rather slender, soft almost. But, he supposed that appearances could be deceiving; for all he knew, Leila could've been a black belt in karate or a professional boxer - that would explain the tape wrapped around her hands. Still, the very thought of it was ridiculous, even if it was true. A smile tugged at the corners of his lips, and he tried to imagine the girl take on an opponent twice her size, but it was of no avail.
"Are you a regular?" he inquired, rapidly changing the subject as he pushed the previous thoughts out of his head; the more he thought about it, the more he wanted to laugh. Recomposing himself, Ethan's eyes met her own, and he noticed that she had rather striking blue eyes - the same as his own.

"Oh yes." Leila replied with a smile. "I love coming here. I mean, it costs, but... I still find a way, usually."
Leila rubbed her arm, trying to dull the ache that had been biting at her arm for what seemed like forever now. The pain usually softened after she let her frustration out on the punching bag. But once she stopped, it came in a wave. She found that rubbing it, quickly once she was finished, helped to lighten it, but just slightly. She started rubbing it with a vengeance. She grimaced for just a moment when a sharp pain bit at her shoulder, but then quickly dissolved.
"And how about you?" she asked, with a forced smile. She continued to rub her arm. "I don't remember seeing you before."

Ethan nodded at the girl's statement. He wasn't quite sure what her situation was, but he knew for a fact that he never really had any money laying around. Between helping out his family and paying his own bills, the boy seldom had money or time to spare. It never really bothered him before, but he did acknowledge that it would have be nice to spend some money on new furnishings or entertainment from time to time.
"Yeah, nothing's ever free, huh? I was just-" The boy paused and glanced at Leila, who was rubbing her arm profusely. Blinking, Ethan stared at the girl, dumbfounded. Just what was she doing? But, he had no more time to contemplate, for the girl began speaking once again.
"And how about you? I don't remember seeing you before."
The sixteen-year-old glanced up from the girl's arm, his eyes meeting her gaze.
"Yeah, this is my first time here," he explained. "How's the place? Anything I should be worried about?"
His gaze briefly returned to the girl's arm. "Anything at all?"

Lelia met his gaze.
Wow. His eyes are so blue!
"I- uhm..." she looked at the ground, still rubbing her arm.
I gotta tell someone. It's been bugging me for a long time. Maybe he could help...? But I doubt it. I guess there's no harm in asking...
"Well, Ethan... have you ever heard off a type of injury that is... mental and physical at the same time?" she kept rubbing her arm harshly. "That's what I have. I... when I was younger, I burned my arm really bad. That's why I'm wearing this long-sleeved shirt, even while I'm boxing." she added with a smile. Hesitantly, she pulled her sleeve forward, revealing a badly scorched arm. "It doesn't really hurt too bad, but I just recently found out... I recently found out that how I got my injured arm, was because of my sisters. Oh man, you won't believe how much they detest me! They purposefully pushed me into the stove when I was just 7. I forgot about it... amnesia, I guess. But when I found out about it last month... it's really weird. We have no money to go to a doctor or anything, but I find that boxing helps;" she started rubbing her arm again. "Until I finish the workout." She looked up at him. "I don't know why I told you all of this..."

Tucker:
"It-it's beautiful." Tears streamed down the girl's pink cheeks as she spoke.
Getting up, Tucker came and sat across from Rosie. Secretly, he wanted to hug her and comfort her and tell her everything was going to be okay but he reminded himself they had only met a day ago.
It's strange how close I feel to her already...I feel like I've we've been friends for so much longer already
"Rosie..." He lifted up her dainty chin in his hand and looked into her teary, blue eyes. Something in her eyes told Tucker she was remembering something from long past. "I'm here for you if you need to talk about whatever is on your mind."
Clover:
"So am I." Clover added, handing Rosie a tissue.

Rosie smiled through her tears appreciatively at Clover and took the tissue. She wiped her eyes carefully.
"I- you..." she looked up at Tucker. "You play it exactly like my mother did. Everything sounded the same... I'm sorry, it just hit me really hard all of a sudden." she took a shaky breath. "They left on a trip to Ambia when I was 7. She had taught me just the beginning of Canon in D Major, before she left me with my grandmother. I haven't seen them since... when you played, it just brought it all back. Your piano playing has so much power. It's truly beautiful. You have an incredible talent."

Tucker moved next to Rosie, wrapping his arm around her shoulders.
"Thank you. That mean's the world to me," he began, softly, "I understand how you feel. My parents left me around the same age. Unable to feed me, I suppose, and too afraid to watch me die. I remember them telling me they'd come back but," Tucker stopped, catching his breath. "But they never did."
Shaking out his mop of brown hair, Tucker sighed. "The past is hard, isn't it? Sometimes I just want it to go away and to have the ability to start new. But there is always the bit of good that's happened. The music I learned, places I've been able to go, the people I've meet..." His deep, brown eyes looked down at Rosie.

Rosie
Rosie felt lost in his gaze. His eyes... oh my goodness... his- his eyes are so beautiful. She blinked away her tears and quickly tore her eyes from his. She felt her heart pounding, and his arm around her shoulders made her tingle. She didn't know what to say.
"Tucker..." she began softly. "I'm... I'm really scared. Clover knows." she looked up at her best friend's face with a smile. "We've been friends for so long, that we know each others fears. I-" she took his hands in hers and looked up into his face. "I'm just..." she laughed nervously. "I don't really feel secure, or wanted, anywhere I go. Clover was my only comfort, and she made me feel welcome, but I'm still frightened. By... almost everything. But with Clover and you..." she looked back up at him and smiled. "I don't feel as worried and scared! You two..." she blushed slightly and ducked her head. "Saved my life, in so many ways. Thank you."

Lita baby-sat little Patrick until 9:00, and then bundled up to go meet Rollo. She went out into the grey, drizzly OnNa day, grateful for the Royale snow sweepers that kept the melting sludge off of the side-walks. She was able to hum lightly as she walked this time, more cheerful than she had been for a few weeks. As soon as she crossed into Subterria though, she kept a more careful eye out. Sharks were out around this time after all, and they might attack her even though Jarek had been one of their members. I can still hardly reconcile the thought of Jarek being a gangster... She deliberated on this as she walked down the muddy streets of her own class.

Ryazan'
Ryazan' was patrolling his section of the city and hating that he had to have this shift when he saw a young girl walking down the street towards him. Quickly, he ducked behind a short wall and watched as she walked by. Knowing what he was supposed to do he just couldn't bring himself to hurting someone as beautiful as her, so he just stayed hidden behind the wall and waited.

Lita was interrupted in her thoughts by the unsettling feeling of a pair of eyes being fixed on her. She turned, startled, and locked eyes with a young, twenty-something Shark. There was no mistaking it now, she had been learning more and more about them in the past few days.
Her emerald eyes delved into his ruby ones, pitying him and searching him. Then, she smiled. "You've been through a lot haven't you." She murmured, as she was about to turn away.

Ryazan' was taken by surprise. Normally in the past they would just scream and run off, but this girl was different. How did she know that he's been through a lot? He replied,"How...how did you know that?"

"How...how did you know that?"
How do I know? Lita wondered. "I suppose... I saw your scarf. It looks like it is often worn, but as much care as a Shark can give has been given to it." She said as she tentatively walked forward. "I, at least, know that not all gang members join because they want to."

Ryazan' backed away a few steps. He wasn't used to being near girls and felt uncomfortable just seeing one. Her saying this made him try to remember what made him join the Sharks but because his accident he couldn't think back that far. "I don't remember why I joined the Sharks, I've just been a part of them for as long as I can remember." thinking he had said too much, he bit his lip and fell silent.

Lita almost had the urge to giggle. Almost. Strangely, the sight of a Shark (especially one with red eyes) biting his lip seemed amusing to her. She didn't think her almost-amusement was showing, but her eyes twinkled for a moment before she had a more sobering thought. "Did you know my brother, Jerek? I- I know he was killed in a rumble."

"Jerek, I've heard that name before, but I can't remember much. I have a poor memory." Then he shifted nervelessly from being around this girl so long. Even though she was quite pretty, it was still weird talking to a girl. "How did your brother get killed?" It was the only thing he could say at the moment.

"I honestly don't know. My employers just told me he had an accident. I found out he was in a gang from someone else, and I've been looking things up on the gangs of the city since then." She turned away slightly. "And the only person I've been able to talk to about it has memory issues." She turned back to him. "But, I guess you can't help that."

"Sorry, I can't help you, but maybe some other guys back at the House can help you." Then thinking what they would do to her he thought otherwise. "Maybe I should just go back and ask instead of you coming back with me." Then he started to walk away. looking back at his watch he realized that he still had fifteen minutes to go. "I still have time to talk if you want." Oddly it felt nice talking to someone else other then the guys at the House.

"No, I'm sorry, I need to get going. I need to meet up with someone." Lita said, remembering Rollo. "Maybe I'll see you again?" She said, phrasing it like a question because, of course, she didn't know if she would see him again. "Don't put yourself to any trouble on my account. I hope your memory returns!"

I hope so, he thought. "Yeah, maybe I'll see you around sometime. Don't run into any of my pals, it wouldn't be fun for you." Then he turned around and walked back towards his hideout in the wall. Glancing over his shoulder he caught one final look at her before going behind the corner of the wall and loosing sight of her.

Checking her watch, Lita hurried to get to the cheese shop on time. She had finished speaking with the Shark, whose name she had never learned, at around 9:58 and still had to make it down a few streets. Maybe it would have been more gentlemanly for him to offer to pick me up. But then I would not have met that Shark. Oh well.
