Name: Sydny Fae Marksh
Birth date: March 30th, 2298
Personality: Sydny is an extreme optimist. Everything that happens, good and bad, he can always change into something good. He almost always wears a smile, and likes gently teasing his friends sometimes. He can’t remember when he thinks back to it ever getting angry, because it has only happened once in his life. When he’s good, he’s very, very good, but when he’s mad, he’s very, very, very mad. Basically no one can push him into his anger, and he remains happy-go-lucky. He never gets depressed, and always brings a contagiously happy mood with him wherever he goes. He never steals, but always finds a way to survive anyway. Some nights he goes without a meal or a place to sleep, but other nights he is luckier. It’s easy for him to earn food or shelter when he’s pleasing or helping others. He earns everything that he physically has.
He doesn’t ever worry about being Subterranean, and doesn’t care that he’s not a Royale. Since he is such an optimist, he doesn’t worry very often, and being Subterranean is trivial, not even a big deal to him. He does sometimes wonder what they do in their rich, fancy houses and green, perfectly mowed lawns, but also wonders what they think of the Subterranean way of living. Broken down shingled houses, brown, bristling lawns, grimy clothes, and thugs. Ugly thugs. As far as he was concerned, at least there’s distinguishing features between being Royale and Subterranean. In one place you can grow lazy and bored and go to expensive schools, and in the other you can just try to survive for a day. He couldn’t decide between them.
What he looks for in a girl: Sydny catches the eyes of many girls, but if there was one thing he was serious about in life, it would be carefully considering them. He likes getting attention from girls, but he never thinks of them as special to him in a personal way, just as friends. He’s always searching wherever he goes for the perfect partner, but she’s harder to find than he imagined. He wants a girl who has a good heart, a good mind, and a girl who will share his love passionately. He doesn’t need or even really want a beautiful girl, just one with plenty of love, smiles, and cheerfulness. He’d love if she was humorous, and laughed at a good joke (or even a bad one) every time he told her one.
Appearance: Sydny is tall, slender, and handsome. He is 19 years old, and 6 ft. 2, and has a runner’s body. He has very blonde hair that has defined strands and is a bit longer than most boys’ hair, but it does not come close to shoulder length. His eyes are ice blue, but they sparkle and shine with his unsuppressed humor and optimism. He has nearly perfect teeth, a straight nose, and a smile that is exercised constantly. His best friends call him Puck.
He wears whatever he can. Sometimes he works for a new shirt, or something else, but he normally wears a white t-shirt with some red stains (that look a great deal like blood), ripped and tattered jeans (he doesn’t try to make a fashion statement normally), and some pink and red beat-up sneakers (he’s always looking for a new pair). His only weapon is a blunt pocket knife, but he doesn’t use it for anything but carving small, wooden animals and people. He normally just wears the same outfit every day, which he is okay with, except for the pink and red sneakers.
History: Sydny’s parents were bright, intelligent people, and were overjoyed when they found that their son Sydny was also. His only sibling, Chita, was the opposite than him, and eventually ran away from home, disgusted by the way of Subterranean living and how optimistic and cheerful her family was. She was different than them in every way imaginable, and she couldn’t stand it. A few months later when Sydny had just turned 15, his parents died when a drunken hooligan hit them head on. Their little bit of property was too much for Sydny to handle, and quickly some neighborhood thugs threatened him away from the home that held so many memories for him.
On his 15th birthday, this had been one day before the accident, his mother and father had gotten him his one and only birthday present. A pocket knife. It was beautiful in all respects to a pocket knife, and Sydny used it so much afterwards, that the blade became blunt. He continued to create his wooden creatures with the dull blade, and continued even when the blade could barely cut through soft foods. His creatures were reminders of his parents, in a way, since he knew that he’d use that pocket knife until it had withered away to nothing. Sydny only remembered becoming sad and crying for a while over his parents, but the day when the thugs came to take the house, he had grown angry. And when he gets angry, he gets very, very, very angry. He didn’t remember even doing it afterwards, but he attacked one of the thugs. The man was ugly and strong, and also grew angry when Sydny tried to stop him. He drew his knife and cut a deep slash from Sydny’s clavicle down his chest.
Sydny found himself stumbling along with his bad wound and wondered how he had gotten it. He tended to it as best he could, and smiled as he walked through the Subterranean village with his blood stained t-shirt and walking with a limp. That’s when he met William, who became one of his best friends. William helped nurse Sydny back to health and his wound healed mostly, except for the ugly scar that he now had with him forever, and also a somewhat critical condition.
