Hello! My name is James. I am the father of five beautiful girls, and one newborn baby boy, whom I all love dearly. I've been married to my gorgeous wife for 17 years. She says that I am practical and intelligent, and that I have sloppy handwriting, which I completely agree on with her. I have a job as a technician (which thankfully does not require intelligible handwriting). After a long day at work, I love to sit with my family and read them stories from the Bible. One of our favorites is the story recorded in the gospels. The children have memorized most of the book of Matthew, which of course pleases me greatly. I believe that, with the proper upbringing, they will all further mature into God-fearing, God-loving young women. Oh, and Rory a God-fearing and God-loving man.
I usually work long hours, and sometimes I don't get back in time for our stories together. Valerie will tell the children a story at that time. I know she worries for me constantly, but she never tells me so out-rightly. My job is very demanding, and some of the people there are not a good influence. I am glad when I reach the safety and warmth of my home, especially after a hard day of work.
I am about 5 ft. and 11 in. which is at least respectable. When I was younger, I always worried about my height, before my growth spurt. I always thought that if I was too short, then I wouldn't be allowed to get married. Don't ask me why. Young children can have strange ideas. Anyway, I have light brown hair, and green eyes. I don't really put much weight on at all; another cause for Valerie's concern. Her cooking is extraordinary, though. I can't describe how good it feels to come back home to a beautiful wife, and a savory smell filling the air when I open the door.
I am pretty outgoing and friendly, I guess. Valerie declares it so when I invite one of my work colleagues home to have dinner with us. Usually, I'll give Valerie a heads up, first, because believe it or not, girls are messy! Or at least my daughters are. Valerie keeps our room spick and span, while the girl's rooms; well, they are usually in chaos.
So... I'm going to be late for work if I don't head out soon. But yeah; that's basically me.
-Valerie-
*Emmeline, be still. Let me finish your hair* ... Ah, hello! My name is Valerie Gardinia... *All right. Run along and play now* I'm sorry... I guess this shall lead up to a wonderful part of my life. My children. My eldest is Alina, then Meriel, Lydia, Emmeline, Maria, and Rory. Rory is my only boy, and he is a month old. I am married to James, my brilliant husband, and I have been for the past 17 years. I love them all very much, and I'm not sure how I could have gotten along without any of them.
Something that is held in high regard in my family is our evening time spent together. James will read them a story from the Bible, and I am so delighted when I see the glow in their faces as he reads God's Word to them. It is a special thing, to me.
We have a family schedule that we try to carry out daily. James leaves for work at an uncertain time every morning, and the kids usually wake up on time to say good-bye. We have three meals a day, and I try very hard to make Alina do more of the cooking, but she doesn't really enjoy it. Lydia is my chef and kitchen helper. They all have to clean up portions of the house, and then they begin their studies. I prefer for them not to go to a public school, and so I teach them at home. I did buy for them school uniforms, however. I fashioned a room in our house to look like a schoolroom, and every school day we meet and have classes. I do believe the children enjoy it, and I must admit that, while tiring, I do like it as well.
The children express a great amount of independence, but which I can especially sense in Alina. She has already dyed her hair three times, though I will leave that amusing story for her to tell. Meriel is a tomboy to her roots, and I have no idea how she turned out to be so. James and I both seem to be quiet people, but maybe she's beginning a new characteristic to our family? Lydia is a perfect little angel, as well as Emmeline. Emmeline has already been through a lot for such a young age, but she's a strong little thing. Maria... even though she is so young, she expresses traits of that like Meriel! Shall we have two tomboys? Rory is a wonderful baby, and hardly fusses. I think he looks a great deal like his father.
And now, I suppose, I should tell a little bit about my appearance. I am a meager 5 ft. and 5 in. My eyes are purple, as well as Maria's. I have shoulder length straight, blonde hair, that can curl if I take the time to do it. Which, I must admit, I hardly do. I usually wear it back in a ponytail around the house, but I try to do something nice with it on Sunday's and special occasions. I have small features, and a fragile frame. I have strengthened many muscles just doing the housework, and keeping an eye on all the children, and the exercise is undoubtedly healthy.
