When it comes to the topic of romance, the typically bright boy is dumbfounded. With too many other things on his mind - like figuring out how to pay for next month's bills, for example - he doesn't really have the time to contemplate on the characteristics of his 'ideal woman'. He generally thinks that women are delicate, soft creatures that need protection, so he is naturally gravitated towards those that are more fragile. Whether this is sexism or chivalry remains to be undetermined, but he does have good intentions. You could suppose that these damsels in distress would be a perfect match for him, but a more independent and self-reliant girl would suit him more; after all, having to constantly look out for your significant other gets pretty tedious after a while. Appearance

Ethan Fabre is a relatively tall sixteen-year-old boy. He has a pale complexion. He also has wavy, dark brown hair. It is typically kept messy and reaches slightly below the nape of his neck. He has bangs as well, and the longest strands end at the bridge of his nose.

He has light blue eyes, but they will look darker depending on the lighting. He has a muscular build. But, it's not noticeable underneath all his clothes (he tends to wear pretty loose and baggy shirts, so you don't really notice he's muscular). He tends to wear causal clothes, because he's, well, a subterrean, although he does have a few formal outfits in his closet. However, he just likes to throw on some jeans an a shirt, so he doesn't spend much time on his appearance.

But, this isn't to say he's bad looking. He's pretty decent looking. Overall, he just dresses like a normal teenage boy - casual. Okay, well maybe he dresses like a poor teenage boy; he often finds his clothes at thrift shops - sometimes, his mother would even make his clothes. Still, he is pretty well-dressed for a subterrean.

Personality

When you first look at Ethan, you may notice his frown, which looks like it's been permanently etched on his face, or twitching left eye, the tell-tale sign of irritation. At first glance, you might conclude that he's irritable, and you're completely right. Ethan isn't your typical easy-going, laid-back guy. He's easily annoyed by the smallest things and often snaps at others when things go wrong. He will lash out at anybody and everybody, though he won't physically attack anybody, especially girls.

But, don't get me wrong here. He has good morals, although he's lacking in the social skills department. Unaccustomed to dealing with others, he usually does things the way he thinks it should be - in other words, he does things his way. He's stubborn, yes, but also extremely confident as well. The brunette is very kind as well, though it doesn't show that much.

With such aggressiveness, it's not surprising to see why Ethan is also competitive. Although he comes from a pretty poor family, he has pride and dignity. Rather than thinking of himself as 'beneath' others, he instead finds himself as an equal. He'll challenge anyone and everyone, regardless of what others may think of it. Some may find him shameless, but he thinks otherwise.

History

Ethan Marcel Fabre was born on May 7th, 2300 to his parents, Hélène and Marcel Fabre, who were farmers. Although his family was poor, they lived a humble yet meaningful life. While his parents left to take care of the fields every day, Ethan often spent time with his older sister, Geneviève, who was two years his senior. When they turned old enough, they eventually helped their parents in the fields, too. But, as time went on and his parents grew older, the strenuous labor soon caught up with them, and they were forced to retire.

Even with the retirement money, there still wasn't enough money to pay the bills, so Ethan and his sister began taking odd jobs to care for their parents. Eventually, Ethan became an apprentice for a mechanic, working both on cars and out on the field. However, it soon became apparent that even this wasn't enough, so Ethan left home just after his 16th birthday to live on his own and reduce the family expenses. Although he still contributed to the family's income, he was entirely on his own. He lived on the streets for a while until he could finally gather enough money for a small apartment, where he lives today.
