Name: Destiny Noelle Tether
Status: Born in Ambia, adopted into a Subterrian family
Age: 20
History: Destiny was born to an aristocratic Ambian family who were excited to have a girl after their first child tragically drowned. The Ambian government insisted that all children, after reaching age five, must be brought in to receive their I.S. testing. The standard serum they gave to young Destiny clashed with her system, and caused her to suddenly have an epileptic seizure. It passed quickly, and the scientists were eager to figure out what had brought about the immediate and negative repercussions. They discovered that Destiny had been born with Epilepsy, but it was so immature before and after she was born, that nothing ever suggested it. The serum had triggered her hidden Epilepsy, thus making her "useless" for the good of the country. Her body rejected the important serum, and she was likely to suffer from Epileptic shock that made her too difficult for the government to want to deal with. The Ambians believe that if a child hinders the whole country's well-being, that the practice of infanticide is legal. However, they could hardly murder a 5 year-old girl and get away with it, so she was put up for adoption without her parent's consent. If they had objected, they would have seemed insincere about practicing the rule of the "good life" and would have had to face the consequences that Senator Toren had set in place; you'd be sent to Australia. Though there could never be a good excuse to abandon their child, they cowardly did so.
The Tethers were a Subterrian family who had also suffered the tragic loss of their child. They wanted to adopt, and the Ambian government connected with the Tethers and set the adoption up as quickly as they could. Destiny was horrified and devastated to be separated from her father and mother. The epileptic seizure had changed her cheerful, outgoing demeanor into a calm, quiet one. The Tethers tried to get her all the therapy they could, and it did do some good for Destiny's mental and physical health.
At age 19, both her adopted parents were called to a meeting in Ambia, which they were told was for "diplomatic reasons." However, a few days after they reached Ambia, it became clear that tensions between OneNation and Ambia had become so severe, that they would not be permitted back to OneNation for a long time. Destiny remained at her comfortable house in the outskirts of Subterria, where most farming is done. Mrs. Tether's sister lived in Royalia, but once a month she would come down and check-up on Destiny, and make sure that she was alright. Destiny is currently waiting for any news (hopefully promising) about her adopted parents.
Personality: After the Epilepsy became more severe, she was never quite the same. She sometimes experiences psychological anxiety or fear, brief amnesia, and occasional seizures. However, she doesn't let her condition upset her. She enjoys the small things in life that bring her untainted happiness away from the stress of everything. She has few friends due to the fact that she is an adopted Ambian, and because she rarely speaks unless it is necessary. Oftentimes dubbed an introvert, Destiny enjoys her alone time more than anything else. Being separated from her birth parents at such a young age affected her in a harsh way, and instead of being upset over it, she remained quiet, and would never tell the counselors what she really felt. She wrapped herself in a cocoon of solitude and silence, though she would smile easily to ease her father and mother's minds.
Destiny rarely complains about anything. She willingly does any task assigned to her, though her parents don't ask much from her. One of her favorite places to be, is by a little river near the house. She loves to listen to the birds sing their melodies to each-other, and the water has a calming affect on her. She's never worried what other people think of her, because she hasn't become acquainted with many people. Destiny has always wanted to be a mother someday, but her condition makes that profession dangerous for herself and her possible children. Because of that, she doesn't hope for anyone to fall in love with her, so as to avoid that situation completely.
Appearance: Destiny has long, reddish-blonde hair with gentle curls at the ends. In the sunlight, her hair glows a pale yellow (almost white), though her darker blonde high-lights peep through. She often wears her hair down, but when she does put it up, it's normally a simple bun or ponytail. She occasionally weaves a braid into her hair.
Her height is 5 feet and 2 inches. Her frame is extremely fragile and small, and to most passerby's, she appears anorexic. Both her birth parents had small frames, and she looks remarkably like her mother. Her eyes resemble her father's, though. They are a light brown; almost a transparent brown. She often looks like she's staring off into space when she's looking you straight in the eye. Her hands are small and often cold. Destiny likes to wear soft, loose-fitting clothing. Her standard outfit is dark jeans and a comfortable, pastel colored blouse or t-shirt. She never cared much for jewelry, and her ears are not pierced. Her nails are naturally shiny, but not very long.
